Privacy at Cluetles

Updated September 27, 2026

Cluetles is a daily deduction game. You can play the free daily case without creating an account. This page describes the information used by the game and its optional account and purchase features.

Google accounts

If you choose to sign in with Google, Cluetles receives your Google account identifier, name and verified email address. We use these to create your player account, restore your saved cases and connect purchases and feedback rewards to you across devices. Cluetles does not receive your Google password or access to your Gmail, Drive or contacts. Google handles sign-in under its privacy policy.

Your Google name and email are private account details. They are not shown on the leaderboard.

Game progress and leaderboards

Cluetles stores room placements, clue notes, hints, game times, check counts and final results. Signed-in progress is saved to your account. Guest progress is associated with this browser. The public daily leaderboard shows only anonymous solve times and ranks. Your personal results compare your time with all valid finishers for that daily puzzle.

Purchases

When purchases are enabled, Stripe processes payments on its hosted checkout. Cluetles stores references to the purchase, its status and your access entitlement. Payment card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored in the Cluetles game database. See Stripe’s privacy policy.

Support and feedback

When you contact us, we store your message, optional email address, submission date, review status and our reply. If you are signed in, the submission is linked to your Cluetles account and its verified Google email. Messages are private and available to the developer who reviews them. We use them to respond to requests, improve the game and review feedback rewards.

Useful feedback can earn lifetime Plus after review. We retain the account entitlement and its link to the approved submission so access can be restored across devices. Feedback rewards are separate from paid purchases. Replies appear on the site; automatic email notifications are not sent.

A private receipt link lets you read a submission and its reply without signing in. Keep it private: anyone with that link can read the message. The server stores a hash of the secret receipt key. Unsent form drafts are kept in this browser tab’s session storage to survive sign-in and are removed after a successful submission. Support and review records are kept to handle requests and maintain rewards; you can use the support form to request access or deletion.

Cookies and local storage

Necessary cookies keep your guest identity or signed-in session. A sign-in session lasts up to 30 days; the guest identifier can last up to a year. A short-lived sign-in cookie protects the login process. Your browser also stores board backups, music volume and game preferences. Signing out revokes the current account session. Clearing browser data removes guest saves and local backups; you can sign in again to restore account data.

Hosting and advertising

Our hosting providers process the requests needed to serve the game, which may include network and device information such as an IP address. Cluetles does not currently serve advertisements. An AdSense account verification tag alone does not serve advertisements. Any future ad-serving and consent configuration will be described here when activated.

Your information

Account and game records are kept to provide saved progress, purchase restoration and leaderboards. You can request access, correction or deletion of your account information. Purchase records may need to be retained for transaction handling and recordkeeping.

For account or privacy requests, send a private support request. You do not need to sign in. Keep the receipt link to read our reply.
